Facelift involves correction of lax skin in the face and neck. Incisions are placed in front of each ear and extended superiorly into the scalp and posteriorly behind each ear lobe for a short distance. The "pull" of a facelift is on the deeper tissues beneath the skin, with the skin following passively. This allows for a more natural look and decreases the incidence of widened scars.
Liposuction can be carried out in

conjunction with this procedure. Liposuction may be appropriate to "fine tune" neck contours and smooth out any full areas due to fatty deposits. Recovery is typically within 1 to 2 weeks and discomfort well managed with standard pain medications.
